SPACAR Fundraiser - Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for your interest in the Skiatook Paws and Claws Animal Rescue fundraiser. I would love to create a beautiful image of your beloved pet while supporting the great work that SPACAR does!

Below are answers to some of the questions you may have. If you have a question that is not addressed below, please email me at Jill@BernhardtImaging.com

When is the fundraiser?

Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 10am - 3pm.

Where is the fundraiser?

Skiatook Paws and Claws Animal Rescue

4605 W C Rogers Blvd., Skiatook, Ok 75070

What is the required donation?

A donation of $50.00 is required which is due the day of the session.

What methods of payment will be accepted?

Cash, Venmo or Cash App will be accepted.

Can I bring more than one pet, and can I get a photo of all of them together?

Yes, but each animal requires its own session. For example, if you have three dogs, you will need to book three sessions at $50.00 each. The priority will be to get a photo of each pet individually. Group shots will be taken after each individual shot is captured, if time allows. Please schedule early so that you can get multiple time slots together.

What do I get for my $50.00 donation?

Your pet will receive up to a 10 minute photography session after which you will have five minutes to select (1) digital image that you would like to receive. The image will be fully edited, sized for sharing on social media, and delivered to you via Pixieset no later than 09/30/24.

What will the images look like?

The images will be similar to the images we take for the shelter. See this link for sample photos. Please note that no particular pose, background or expression is guaranteed. Animals are unique individuals and may have different plans for the session than we do.

Can I get additional images?

Yes, you can get up to (2) additional digital images - one for each item donated to the shelter from the shelter wish list ($20 minimum required for each additional image). Additional donations must be brought with you the day of the session.

How much of the donation goes to SPACAR?

100% of the session fee and wish list donations go to SPACAR. Bernhardt Imaging is donating all time and costs associated with the photo sessions and post-session editing.

How do I schedule?

Please click this link to schedule your appointment(s). No payment is due at the time you schedule.

What should I do to prepare my pet to be photographed?

There are a number of things you can do to contribute to a successful session:

  • If your pet is high energy, please take time to burn off some of that energy before your session. If they come to the session fully energized, we might not get that perfect photo.

  • Please take some time to allow your dog to relieve itself prior to the session. This will decrease the chances of an accident during the shoot.

  • Please do not have your dog or cat groomed less than one week prior to the session.

  • Animals should be up to date on vaccinations and be free of fleas and ticks.

  • Please do not bring any animal that is ill to the shoot, even if that means cancelling your session. You will not be charged if your session is cancelled due to illness, we just please ask that you let us know as soon as possible so we can try to fill the spot. If you have to cancel the day of the session, please call or text me at 630.235.2873.

  • Relax! Regardless of what happens, don’t get upset. Your pet will sense this which will impact the session. Chaos and unpredictability sometimes accompany animal photography but can result in unexpectedly delightful photos.

  • Your pet may have an accident - it’s okay! I’m a pet photographer - it won’t be the first or last time that happens. We will clean up and continue on with the shoot. It will cut into your session time a bit, though, so please walk your dog prior to the session to decrease the chance this will happen.

  • While it doesn’t happen often, we may ask you to leave the room while we photograph your pet. Please do not take offense if this happens - it is actually a compliment. Sometimes, your pet just loves you SO much, that it’s is impossible to photograph them while you are in the room.
